......

Techno viking would dance to this. After all it does sorta have an epic feel to it...

But hmmm, for a start try improving the drums, remove the distortion off the kick, ugh... Hurts my ears after a while. If the distortion isnt on purpose, hmm, master compression?

5/10, 3/5

Sorry, this feels like a pathetic review for me.

DJ-Chilvan responds:

sorry about the distortion. old habit. Well, thanx for the review. It was not pathetic. The best reviews are the negative ones.

Im not degrading your music, just the figures. As the no.1 in your submission just doesnt make sense.

Overall, i think your songs just a little basicly produced for my taste... Could do with a little more 'processing' of the sound, add more effects etc. Compositon isnt bad overall.

I'll give you a 6.

Hazard-Productions responds:

I don't get it either.... some kinda glitch?

peace

Yeah - the bassline in the last half of the song is kick ass, takes a little long to build up and get there... But overall, percussion n drums are tops!

Btw, the bassline sounds like its come from 'massive' - correct me if im wrong
(dont find many people using that here)

KVproductions responds:

Many thanks for the great review!!

I haven`t used massive in any productions really because I wasn`t really a fan of that synth, I think its just a thing with sampler type synths I just can`t get into, the bass in this track was done in BassStation and FM8 and some from Sylenth1.

Thanks again mate :)

Yeah, this is nice

Needs a bit of a more 'full' bassline though;
Find a nice detuned reese-synth, distort it a tad, lowpass it (and maybe automate the cuttoff if you get adventurous), and replace the original bass-synth with the above.

The atmosphere of this song is wicked though, I like the 'deep wind' effect that comes through... :P

And for the drums, try making a couple of loops where some of your samples are reversed to give a swinging effect... And maybe automate the downsampling of a bitcrusher everynow and then, at the end of the chorus or something...

overall solid tune tho,
Chur

oddfellowfloyd responds:

wow, thank you for the kind words and constructive criticism, mate!

I can putz around and see how different basses work, sure ;) that drumslicing took me forever last night, haha, but I'll keep your suggestion in mind. :)

peace always,

yeah man, this is sick

fully.

Dont give a fuck about the soulja fag init, its a bit wtf - but i think thats what you were aiming for, and you pwned it, caus it works.

Rave4Yourself responds:

LOL

Thanks man, :)

Glad you liked it.

a chick that makes drum and bass??

Niiiice!

Most of your dnb tracks build up perfect, they just need to have a heavier drop - try a grimey saw style lead, with an automated low-pass filter - which is then layered on top of the bassline, i rekon that would set the tone in the chorus...

anyways good shit - much much more classy than most of the shit drum and bass here at ng.

SaintMalign responds:

DnB ftw for sure ^O^

but yus, I did notice I needed a saw with higher freq cause the bass makes up most of the lower freq.
And thankies for the suggestion :P

nice song -

starts off really really nice, although there is too much of a sudden contrast with the second half of the song. There needs to be a bit more progressiveness throughout, and have the motion of the wind flow throughout the song....

Otherwise, love this, good shit!

CBJ3 responds:

Thank you! Yeah, I understand how you feel on that. The beginning and the part after the transition used to be two separate songs that I made and decided they needed each other. Thanks again, I really appreciate the great review.

drum and bass??

this isn't drum and bass, more happy techno or somewhere 140 bpm belongs.

Ic3m4n responds:

the genre is so unimportant :( its the music that counts

wicked!

Dude, you must have some decent production skill, caus this is put together pretty tightly!

churr,

oh this is more breaks than drum and bass yeah?

Kindzero responds:

Thanks man, cool that you like it.

Yeah, maybe you are right, but I'm too lazy to change to another category. :P
